Paterson, NJ –Graphco, a full-line equipment dealer for Colter & Peterson, recently sold a Saber 116 paper
cutter to Jakprints, a commercial printer, and installed the machine at their facility in Cleveland, OH.
Jakprints’ purchasing decision came after researching competing machines and realizing the 45-inch Saber paper cutter was the solution that would work best for them right out of the box.
“The Saber was the only paper cutter that would perform flawlessly with the customer’s existing system,” says Chris Manley, President of Graphco in Solon, OH, which serves markets in Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Kentucky, Michigan and Indiana.
A deciding factor for Jakprints was the Saber’s control system developed by C&P Microsystems, LLC, a division of Colter & Peterson, which provides the functionality that the customer needed and could not get from a competitor. The Microcip software allows the importation and conversion of standardized CIP3/4 files into cutting programs. Due to its automatic programming features and easy-to-use graphic interfaces, the software also eliminates errors and reduces set-up times.
“The electronic interface with the customer’s pre-press area is the best versus the Saber’s competitors,” says Manley. “The way that its software optimizes the cutting procedure, especially in gang runs or complicated press sheets, is a huge advantage for them. The two-arm pull of the knife and the clamp makes for a much more reliable cutting process.”
